Where Glen Cove's Saturday Market Goes After November 7

From June 2021 through last year, Glen Cove's Saturday farmers market set up in the parking lot beside the Beacon at 100 Garvies Point Road, facing the water and a short drive from the shops on Glen Street. This year it moved into the middle of downtown. Since May 30, Deep Roots Farmers Market has run Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 100 Village Square, rain or shine, on a 23-week season that ends November 7.

That leaves two market Saturdays. Halloween briefly sends the market back toward the water, and November 7 packs three separate events into the same morning. After that, the Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce has already set the dates that move the market's vendors indoors through April 2027.

The Move That Put the Market Next to the Shops

The market's 2026 public notice says it moved from Garvies Point to Village Square "by popular demand." The notice credits the new site with greater visibility, more foot traffic, easier access, more parking and "an even stronger connection to the local business community." The Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce runs the market as successor to its founder, Amy Peters. It took over operations in 2025, as the Glen Cove Herald reported when that season opened.

The parking is what sets the downtown site apart. The Downtown BID's market listing points shoppers to free parking in the Brewster Street and Pulaski Street garages. The market itself also mentions street parking and the lots off Bridge Street. The market accepts FMNP and WIC.

Moving the market downtown also put it next door to the merchants who run Village Square's own calendar. The Shoppe by Trubee Hill, a gift and home-goods store built around locally made candles, opened at Village Square in the summer of 2022, according to the Long Island Press. News 12 Long Island featured the shop in June, a week after the market's first downtown Saturday. Two of the three events on the market's final Saturday are Trubee Hill's or share its address.

Tonight, and Then Halloween Splits the Square by the Clock

The season's wind-down starts this evening, Thursday, October 29. Trubee Hill is holding a free Holiday Sip & Shop from 5 to 8 p.m. at 100 Village Square, where it will unveil its holiday collection and run special promotions.

Saturday, October 31, is the one day the market's location is unsettled. The market's own notice says that on Halloween it "will move back to Garvies Point Park for a special Halloween event." The City of Glen Cove events calendar still lists the October 31 market at 100 Village Square from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The market publishes its weekly lineup on Facebook and Instagram, generally by Friday. Check that post before you head out on Saturday morning.

The afternoon is settled. The Downtown BID's free Halloween Parade and Festival runs from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at 100 Village Square. The details that matter for families with kids:

  • Parade start: the Staples parking lot at Highland and School streets, winding through downtown.
  • Costume contest: ages 12 and under, judged in age groups of 0 to 4, 5 to 8 and 9 to 12, plus a Best Group category. Judging begins at 2:30 p.m., and registrations close at 2 p.m.
  • Registration: free tickets online in advance, one per child. Pick up your child's number at the event table that day.
  • Festival: pony rides, bounce houses, a live DJ and trick-or-treating at participating local businesses.
  • Parking: free in the Brewster Street garage.

The rain date is November 7. That date matters for the next Saturday.

November 7 Stacks Three Events on One Saturday

The market's last day of 2026 falls on the same Saturday as two other events, and a rainy Halloween would add a fourth. Here is how the day lays out on the Downtown BID and City calendars.

  1. 8 a.m. Trubee Hill's annual sidewalk sale opens at 100 Village Square, rain or shine, with markdowns of 70 to 90 percent. Ten percent of proceeds go to the Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club and the Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club.
  2. 9 a.m. Deep Roots opens for the final time this season at 100 Village Square.
  3. 11 a.m. The Veterinary Emergency Group's VEG Cares Walk begins at Garvies Point and runs until 1 p.m. VEG describes its VEG Cares program as funding emergency treatment for pets with a good prognosis when their owners can't cover the cost.
  4. 1 p.m. The market closes for the season.
  5. 5 p.m. The sidewalk sale ends.

If October 31 is rained out, the Halloween parade and festival moves to this Saturday as well. On a normal year that would be a small calendar note. This year, with the market downtown, it would put the parade, the market and the sidewalk sale at the same address on the same Saturday.

Who Is Still Selling at the End

The market's 2026 vendor roster runs to more than 40 names. It includes Garden of Eve Organic Farm, Oregon Road Organics, Winter Cove Farm and Turturici & Sons, along with Addy's Sourdough Shack, Curcio Bakery, Emi's Bakehouse, Blessing's Artisan Bakery and Little Hippie Bakeshop. Also on the list are Dom's Honey, Hormans Pickles, King of Hummus, Bambino Ravioli Pastifico, Carlo's Homemade Sauces, Cheesemaker on Duty, Marine Fisheries, Baked By A Chef Dog Treats, K9 Bros and Unique Sharpening.

The roster comes with a caveat printed in capital letters on the market's vendor page.

"Please note: NOT ALL VENDORS ATTEND ALL DATES! Some attend weekly, some every other week, some monthly, some just for occasional pop ups."

If a particular vendor is the reason you go, ask them at the stall whether they plan to come on November 7, or watch for the Friday lineup. Vendors can also sign up for the Chamber's indoor dates after the season ends.

Where the Market Goes Indoors

The Chamber's market vendor application lists the dates that follow the season, and the Chamber's events calendar adds the holiday showcase. Together they show a schedule that continues into spring, alternating between an indoor hall on Sea Cliff Avenue and the street outside Village Square.

Date Event Location
Sun., Nov. 15, 2026, noon to 5 p.m. Shop Glen Cove Showcase, the Chamber's holiday shopping event Knights of Columbus, 81 Sea Cliff Ave.
Sat., Dec. 5, 2026 Winter Holiday Festival, with 14 vendor spaces Bridge Street at Village Square
Sat., Dec. 5, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. City tree lighting festivities, lighting at 4:45 p.m. Downtown
Sun., Dec. 6, 2026, 4 p.m. Menorah lighting and festivities Village Square
Sat., Jan. 23, 2027 Monthly Winter Market Knights of Columbus, 81 Sea Cliff Ave.
Sat., Feb. 20, 2027 Monthly Winter Market Knights of Columbus, 81 Sea Cliff Ave.
Sat., Mar. 20, 2027 Monthly Winter Market Knights of Columbus, 81 Sea Cliff Ave.
Sat., Apr. 24, 2027 Monthly Winter Market Knights of Columbus, 81 Sea Cliff Ave.

The Chamber's events page calls the November 15 showcase the return of a holiday tradition celebrating "local businesses, makers and vendors." An earlier vendor application listed a Saturday, November 14 date for a holiday showcase at the same hall, so go by the Sunday date on the current calendar.

December 5 is the one winter day when the market's vendors come back outdoors near the square. The Winter Holiday Festival on Bridge Street falls on the same Saturday as the City's tree lighting, which starts at 1:30 p.m., with the tree lit at 4:45. After that, the monthly indoor markets run from January through April. That brings the schedule to late April, about a month before a new outdoor season would typically begin.

Lunch After the Last Bell

The market closes at 1 p.m., and the City's 2026 dining guide lists plenty of places within a short walk of the square for afterward.

Tocolo Cantina is right at 100 Village Square, and Panera Bread is at 1 Village Square. Bridge Street has three in a row: El Golazo Restaurant 2 for Peruvian food at No. 15, Green Eats at No. 17 and Quisqueya Deli at No. 19. Downtown Café is at 4 School Street, a short walk from where the Halloween parade lines up. If you have small children, Madeline's Play Café shares 36 Glen Street with Jade Fortune. Farther up the street, Southdown Coffee is at 149 Glen Street.

El Tazumal at 6 Glen Street has the longest history here. It marked 40 years of Salvadoran cooking with an August 14 celebration organized with the Downtown BID and the Chamber of Commerce, as the Long Island Press reported. The dining guide lists these addresses but doesn't post hours, so a quick call before November 7 will save you a wasted walk.

Living near downtown Glen Cove means living next to that calendar of outdoor and indoor dates, and the right listing photos and staging can show it.
